I was sent “The History Major” free of charge for an honest review. I am so glad I received this book!! Mr. Cash hit a HOME RUN with “The History Major” I opened the book to start reading it and read most of it in one day! If I hadn’t had a doctors appointment and chores around the house, I would have had the whole book read in one day, but instead, I finished it in less than 2 days, (by the next morning).
Mr. Cash’s characters drew me in and kept my interest, as did the plot with many suspenseful twist and turns. I love history and he really kept me reading with his knowledge of different aspects of history that he interwove into the story and how they could help the story line. Just as I thought I had guessed what was happening, there was another twist and I was lift wondering what, and being drawn back in deeper into the story and the characters.
By the time, I finished the book I left retracing my own memories and questioning my beliefs of reality verse dreams, “What if…”
This this blog is about my thoughts on spiritual, political and everyday things that are going on in the world. I thought I comment about the political mess this presidential race has become. I hadn’t posted until now because I am fully and completely astounded by all those who are running.
I know everyone is hollering about the Republicans and how they are making a fool of themselves and concentrating more on slamming each other than they are on the important things they should be putting their effort into and talking about. However, if you look at the Democrats they aren’t doing much better. They started out looking great, their rebates were very grown up and respectful of each other and as the presidential race has gone along their actions have gone down hill. They are now spitting out hate towards each other, towards the Republican candidates, and concentrating less on the issues.
We started out with ranging from Trump who incited hate and violence, he never really spoke on any issue just spoke in circles about nothing, to Bernie who was love and peace covering as many issues as he can without slamming any of his opponents, even going out of his way to speak out to defend Hillery Clinton at one of their debates.
Now? Now both sides are slamming each other and talking circles around the issues. Even Bernie, who I like by the way, is talking smack about Hillery Clinton and Trump. He is talking circles around the issues when asked questions. Such as he was asked recently about his views Combating Climate Change to Save the Planet, he started out just fine with a very logical; “The scientists are virtually unanimous that climate change is real, is caused by human activity and is already causing devastating problems in the United States and around the world. And, they tell us, if we do not act boldly the situation will only become much worse…” went on to say we needed to tax fuel companies more and fine them harder for the errors they are making. The interviewer asked him: “what that make truckers, who we rely on for our food and products here in America. Suffer and make our prices for products and our fuel prices go up.” From their Bernie turned into a Bully, which I did not like. He wouldn’t answer the question that was asked of him straight on, he would only repeat; “The scientists are virtually unanimous that climate change is real, we have to make drastic changes for our children and grandchildren so they have something to look forward too and a land to live on. Climate change is real…” He started getting red in the face over this. Yes, it is an important subject, but does becoming a bully over a subject like this instead of answering logically and clearly any better then ranting and raving over “we are going to make this American better”?
So we have to choose between Trump = Hitler – Bernie = JFK Because honestly if you do your research Bernie is very much like JFK.
You don’t have to take my word for it, Look up his voting record in the House and the Senate, where he supported civil rights, labor rights, federal aid to education, public housing, foreign aid, minimum-wage increases, extended unemployment insurance, Social Security expansion and – with few significant exceptions – the liberal agenda of his day. Or Consider how William F Buckley Jr.’s National Review — which despised unionized workers, civil rights marchers, and every other liberal constituency — assessed JFK.
Compare Trump to Hitler? You tell me –
But, I digress – putting the two comparisons aside, what has American politics come to these days nothing more than WWF smack down minus the ring and entertaining moves, or a reality tv show that the American People glamor to watch every weeknight between 9 and 10 P.M because it is too racy to put on during prime time?
What are your thoughts on what is happening to the Presidential race this year?
Had a new Author Charles LaFave reach out to me this morning via email to review his book titled: Greeth.

I receive “Subtle Beauty” free to read and give an honest review.
I really enjoy when fairy tales are retold, because when “fairy tales” of old was told they were never told the same twice.
“Subtle Beauty” is a retelling of the classic “Beauty and The Beast”. I found it to be attention grabbing from the beginning and to continue being a page turner.
There were some plot gaps where it seemed the story seemed to progress to quickly or jumped from one scene to another living me a bit confused but that is why I only gave Ms. Hunter’s book a 4 instead of a 5.
Also, one needs to consider “Subtle Beauty” is written for young adults when reading the parts that seem to progress too quickly.
Over all; I would recommend this book to young adults and adults alike, with a solid 4 stars. (less)
