Agree to Disagree – We Have Agreed:

My friend and I are of two minds, she is a Vegetarian and I am a Meat Eater from birth. Grew up on a ranch that grass-fed our cattle, had free range chicken etc.  We also grew our own vegetables and fruit as much as possible.  My father was a big believer in faith and life that you used every aspect of a vegetable and animal that you possibly use, then return the rest to the Earth and give thanks to its’ sacrifice, so that your life could continue.

I have moved from the country to the city, so I may not have carried over EVERY teaching and tradition my father taught me but, I still give thanks for each mouthful I take and for each animal AND PLANT that gives their life so that my life may continue.

Yet, I was recently told that no matter how humane a farm/ranch is to take an animal’s life for food and eat animals is abuse. Ok, I understand this person’s point of view, which my best friend holds as well.  However, my question is this; if eating an animal is abuse then what do you call us encroaching onto the animal’s home’s with houses, cars, roads? you are such animal advocates. Perhaps give up your home, give up your car, a study shows 89 million to 340 million birds suffer fatal injuries from vehicle encounters annually, a range that accounts for dead birds taken by scavengers, carcasses missed by researchers and other uncertainties.  Or perhaps you should boycott skyscrapers, up to a billion birds die in collisions with the glass each year in the United States.

Then there is culling animal breeds: Read this article about the pros and cons of the habit and if it is considered ethical.  In Oklahoma, the habit is used frequently to get the population of deer and cougars down cause they can become overpopulated fast! It also keeps the illegal, unethical killing of animals to a limit cause there is a threat of legal action.

<just a wondering, hypothetical thought> I also wonder what a vegetarian would do if they found themselves facing a wild animal or some other animal who meant them harm? or meant to use “THEM” for food. Would they sit back and say killing the animal is abuse? Because, in the country many times killing an animal is just that life or death, to protect yourself, your family, and that of your livestock/pets. Because there are other animals in this world who are not of the mindset “we can only eat vegetables” That is why some of us – Animals and Animals (which is what we humans are) have canine teeth.

So, as long as I am a  human animal and apart of the food chain I am not going to feel guilty about being part of that food chain and eating vegetables OR meat. That is right, if you feel bad for animals then why not vegetables they are leaving entities too. It has been scientifically proven that they feel pain when part of them is cut off.  So, what makes it right to eat one living entity and not the other? Serious question folks.

Until I can have this seriously answered to me I am going to remain eating my meat and vegitables and continue giving thanks to both for giving me the ability to continue living. Continue giving thanks to the Great Being for giving me life and to Mother Earth for giving nutrients to both animals and plants alike.

We will continue to agree to disagree.

Great Bloothtooh earphones AYL AX8

I was sent these AYL AX8 Boothtooth earphone at a discounted price to give an honest review. It took me a bit to figure out how to connect them to two connections at once, mainly my Samsung Galaxy S5.

I finally was able to get it hooked up to both my computer (running Windows 10) and my Samsung Galaxy S5. I also had it connected to my old Motorola and Blackberry. I like having it connected to my computer and my Samsung phone cause I can listen to my music or audiobook as I am cleaning or working in my studio and if someone calls I can switch to my phone and talk hands-free. I would most certainly recommend this Bluetooth product to anyone, from the less active person to the athletic who is more active because they fit nice and secure in my ears and I have very sensitive ears.

Your Dreams Who Owes You?

As I have said many times my mother is/was my number one mentor in life. She pushed me through school. Not only High School but College as well.  When I graduated from High School I gave her my graduation hat and told her it was as much hers as mine.  She was a single parent and even when she was working two jobs to feed us and pay the bills she pushed me to keep going even when I felt low and helped me to study every day.

She taught me to reach for the golden ring if I missed the first or second time around than just try harder and reach further out the next time.

Yeah, sometimes you might fall off that carousel horse while reaching for the golden ring, but then you get right back up, dust yourself off and go again until you capture the ring!

Because we all have to work for what we want. If we have kids, than we as adults/parents signed a contract with those children and with the higher power to help and guide them to capture the golden ring without falling off and getting hurt, as best as we are able, until they are out of college then help via support and love for the rest of our lives.

No one can give a person their dreams. Perhaps someone can help reach out and grab that golden ring if we are willing to ask for their help.  But they can not do the work alone. No one can just hand that golden ring over to another person, not your parents, not a spouse, not even our higher power.

Sure there are those who inherit riches, like Donald Trump.  However, even those who have inherited  lots of money has to work to keep that money. If they want to remain rich, then they have to do the work to remain so, to earn more money to replace the money they spend or to invest smartly so that they do not end up bankrupt.

However, if we allow it anyone can take our self-worth, and our dreams from us through their actions and their words.

Don’t let them!

Faith = Lifestyle Not A Religion

With all the mass shootings over the past few days, which have happen in Paris, Beirut, Oregon college, and other places, I thought I would post about Faith and rules by which I live my life, and why.

I post daily on my FB feed a small something about my thoughts, about politics, religion, humanity, etc.  I am a very blunt person and do not feel holding back will prove anything or teach anything to the next person reading or listening to what I have to say.   I have always believed I was put here on this Earth, and gone through what I have been put through from a very young age so that I may teach others.  Now if others listen that is up to them.  If others believe the same as me, again that is up to them.

As much as some may believe, I am not “preaching”.  Even though I am an Ordain Minister, study religions, and practicing Buddhist.  I do not believe in INSISTING my beliefs be everyone’s beliefs.  But, as said before, I do believe in being blunt about my thoughts and educating others on what I have learned over the years.  In this way I educate.

The title of this blog is: Faith = Not A Religion.  Now I do believe their are MANY religions on this Earth and they have their place.  They give the people who follow each one a ritual, a way to focus their faith.  I do not believe that their is only ONE face of the creator.  (again this is MY belief, I am not requesting or saying it needs to be yours).   However, FAITH – faith has really very little to do with RELIGION.

Once their is clear understand of the meaning of the two words religion and faith, understanding the difference between them is not that hard. Both words are often confused because it is thought that there is a interchangeable in their meanings. Strictly speaking, both the words are different in terms of their concepts and connotations. They may not have some similarity in their meaning, but religion and faith are very much have a reciprocal relationship in the field of religion. In the world of religion, without faith, you cannot be a follower of any religion. Even to be an atheist, you need to have faith in not believing in God. Now I know some Atheist who would disagree with that statement. Will I explain my reasoning behind this statement later on in this article.

Faith, is often spoken of coming from our heart/soul. When we use it normally, is used to mean a sense of trust.  Faith is generally is a complete confidence or trust in something/someone. Faith is not based on proof. This is why I say Atheist have faith, for they have complete confidence and/or trust in the fact that their is no God with out proof.

Faith shows how much one trust someone or something, not necessarily a God but perhaps a belief or someone or something you need to rely on.  Faith with in religion – not as the religion:  faith consists of the belief in one or more gods or deities, or none at all. However, this always does not have to be the belief in deities and gods as all religions do not believe in the god concept, but follow teachings taught by teachers and mentors instead. So, faith in this case is the faith in the teachings of someone and the lessons of life.  Faith is usually accompanied by hope because when we use the word faith to show that we trust someone, we are hoping that our trust is placed correctly. If we study how faith is built, we can see that faith is built on the belief. When faith becomes strong and unshakable, we become strong within ourselves which can be called awaking into our belief or some ball it being called to our religious choice.

Religion is not Faith,  so what is it? Religion is based on cultures and the rules they have created over time which they have named beliefs. At the same time, religion influences the culture too. Religion builds character and morality.

Religious leaders at one time were the Kings and Queens advisers, they helped draw up the rules which governed the people. Today religious leaders impart primary knowledge about the respective dogmas and tenets, which governor the people who follow different religions.  They try to build faith in the corresponding religion in the minds of the people. Thus, religion and faith are related to each other although they are different from each other.

Below is my way of life that guides my faith:  I do not think of these rules as my religion because I do not have a “religion” I practice Buddhism as in I try and live a lifestyle guided by the teachings of Buddha and Buddha says their is no almighty God.  This I do not believe (this is not my faith. What I trust within my heart/soul).  However, I do believe that the rules we live our life by, that guides our faith, are also what should be what guides our daily lifestyle and with this in mind – these are mine:

The greatest achievement is selflessness.
The greatest worth is self-mastery.
The greatest quality is seeking to serve others.
The greatest precept is continual awareness.
The greatest medicine is the emptiness of everything.
The greatest action is not conforming with the worlds ways.
The greatest magic is transmuting the passions.
The greatest generosity is non-attachment.
The greatest goodness is a peaceful mind.
The greatest patience is humility.
The greatest effort is not concerned with results.
The greatest meditation is a mind that lets go.
The greatest wisdom is seeing through appearances.
– Atisha of the Buddhist faith and teachings

Back to the horrible actions around the world, religion has been said to be the center of all this.  So, perhaps FAITH is the end to it all?  All who have Faith in something good has the ability to bring Humanity back into line of peace and goodness.

I have yet to master any of the above rules I try to follow on a daily basis, that I pray (to my Creator and Earth Mother) for the strength to continue my lessons they have for me, To my teacher Buddha (who is not a God but a Teacher) to keep teaching me, and give me strength in my faith to hold strong in each of these life rules to be able to live a lifestyle that honors each of these life rules every day.

Since I started learning and following Buddhism I have thought the above rules should be the commandments on how to live life –

The greatest achievement is selflessness. – To think of others perhaps not always before thy self but perhaps as you are thinking of yourself. If you are going to do something. Think of how it will effect others before doing it. If you are going to the kitchen and live with someone ask “would this person also like something from the kitchen?” If you are at the store perhaps look at the products and think of others in need before thinking of your wants.

To master The greatest achievement is selflessness, and thinking of others leads to The greatest worth is self-mastery.  With self-mastery, one learns to control one urges, addictions, actions, etc.  To master oneself isn’t the ability to master one’s life but it does help.  It makes one’s life much more clear, much happier.  Yet Buddha teaches you can not have good with out the bad, happiness with out sadness.  So, even though self-mastery can make your life a happier life, it does not mean a life with out bad or sadness.

The greatest achievement is selflessness and The greatest worth is self-mastery leads to: The greatest quality is seeking to serve others,   which leads to continual awareness, etc.   As it is taught one rule mastered  leads to the next rule, and the next rule should become easier to master. This of course is not always true, their are stumbling blocks in life at every level in life, we may fall off those steps and need to start re-climbing.

But – imagine if just the majority of people followed their faith/ their code of ethics/life rules – be they these ones or others which they hold as dear as commandments, imagine how much better humanity would be all over the world.  Yes we still have sadness, bad times, and lessons to learn, but with faith and a sit of rules which makes life easier to life by, to each other, as well as, ourselves with kindness and peace those hard times will be less harsh and we would be able to learn our life lessons with less effort and more awareness.

I send blessings to each person and pray for peace among humanity.

Starbucks How Dare YOU!!!!

I am sure many of you have seen this Starbucks debate on every social media forum and news channel the past few days. If you haven’t then I would say you either, haven’t been on any social media, haven’t watched the news, or have your head stuck somewhere dark.

Apparently, Christen’s are up in air about their choice of coffee mugs this holiday season.  Starbucks has chosen to go with a red mug, instead of their “red” mug with snow flakes, fir tree limbs, reindeer etc.  So, some people are saying Starbucks is taking Christ out of Christmas, that they have become “Jesus haters”.

Can someone explain how going to a “red” cup is taking Christ out of Christmas?  I do not see how this makes sense to myself.  What does Christ have to do with snow flakes, and reindeer or red cups, which by the way isn’t a “real” red. Starbucks has stated the cup ” is a two-toned ombré design, with a bright poppy color on top that shades into a darker cranberry below” Read more at

It should also be noted that Starbucks could not have removed any overtly Christian symbols from their cups, because they never used them to begin with. The holiday symbols Starbucks used between November and December every year on their cups typically feature general winter holiday symbols such as snowmen, carolers, and ornaments, which (although they may be associated with Christmas) are either secular in origin or not exclusively Christian.

If Starbucks was truly getting rid of Christ and declaring War on Christ, wouldn’t they get rid of EVERYTHING, every product they have which is Christmas oriented, such as: Starbucks® Advent Calendar 2015Red Holiday Cup OrnamentStarbucks® Dark Chocolate Peppermint GrahamsFloating Figurines Holiday Tumbler, 12 fl ozHoliday Trees Cold Cup, 16 fl oz and many others.  Plus, all the special holiday flavored drinks: Chestnut Praline Latte, Peppermint Mocha and Caramel Brulée Latte. If a two-tone Ombre` cup is representation of Christ then so are these other products.

With all this information known and all the arguing going – on my issue with all this is?

We have so many other things in this world to worry about, and the thing these people are worried about, and are fighting over in the world, during the season that is suppose to be about good will and brotherly love: when the bible says; “love thy neighbor as thy self” –    Yet people are fighting over A TWO-TONED OMBRE` CUP CUP!

In our country we have Thousands of veterans will spend Christmas day overseas while thousands more will spend it in the streets starving  or dying from exposure to the weather because we don’t have a solution to this issue, which is also partly due to lack of solution to the lack of Mental Health issues and care in the US.

Millions of children will eat their dinners at a facility due to being abandoned by their birth parents. Or 1 out of every 3 children will be spending their Christmas being abused by one or both of their parents, Yet people are fighting over A TWO-TONED OMBRE` CUP CUP!

The little gay boy or girl down the street or in your class is being bullied on a daily basis, or perhaps it is just the really quite geeky kid who has a stutter, to the point of suicide.  Yet people are fighting over A TWO-TONED OMBRE CUP CUP!

Thousands of inmates will spend the holidays in jail for non-violent, weed related crimes. Billions of animals will be slaughtered in dog fights, in animal shelters just to full to shelter them all because people can’t be bothered to have them spayed or neutered, buy them for gifts – then decided they are to much problem, etc.  Yet people are fighting over A TWO-TONED OMBRE CUP CUP!

This holiday is suppose to be about good will to all and love for man kind, yet here people are all over America (some who are ministers (Joshua Feuerstein) complaining about a company and their cup which really had NOTHING to do with Christ.

I think a person on twitter stated it best when they wrote on twitter: “If you need a coffee chain to be your ambassador of Christ you need to re-examine your relationship w/God,” one Twitter critic.

Peace and Blessings:
